It Takes A Village 40 Day Lenten Devotional-Day#23

      We’re Better Together!
     Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (ESV)
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Solomon teaches us that two people working, warring and warming together is so much better than one. It is clear that as a covenant community in Christ that we are better together than we are alone.
This truism keeps the covenant community in Christ from utter defeat at the hands of the enemy! Togetherness is critical to the success of any organization —family, business or church. There is so much reward and return to organizations or people groups who understand the significance of togetherness! Christians that embrace togetherness are better off than those who chose to be in isolation.
Auto maker Henry Ford once remarked, “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Both Ford and Solomon echo the same sentiment that we are better together. The next time you have an opportunity to work with others, consider the benefits of togetherness and adopt the mantra that we’re better together!
God, help me to be a team player and promote togetherness in every arena of my life, Amen!
